Priority Number 1!

Hi!

Things have been progressing nicely over the last month or so.
We are insulated, passed the latest building control inspection and we think passed our surprise inspection from the council!
We were given details of a friend of a friend (thanks Ben and Johnny) who is a cracking electrician and weirdly did work where Andy used to work so knew us. First fix electrics are done throughout and our focus is now on operation bedroom!

The bedroom is the priority as we are desperate to sleep in a bed and have another room to go to. Although our new sofa bed is so much better, it's still noisy and bouncy and we don't get a great nights sleep.
The bathroom isn't priority 1 as it's not that big of an issue going outside (to the shed) Especially not in the summer.
Andy has put all the window sills in using...you guessed it...scaffold boards! Sanded and clear varnished, they are a exact match to the frame and look really good!

The ceiling of the bedroom is plaster boarded and hopefully this week he should finish the plaster boarding of the bedroom ready for plastering the week after.

We've also been out and about to some reclamation places and picked up two cast iron radiators for the bedroom and a pump! We always thought it would look cool having our house name hanging from the arm of a pump. 'Twas a pump house after all! And this one looks good and was a bargain.

Now the not so good bits!
We are quickly running out of money. We hopefully have enough to finish the bedroom and hopefully the bathroom (including furniture) before we run out and Andy has to go back to work.
Yeah it would be great to finish the whole thing. And we will; but the living room and second bedroom can wait till we build up a bit more of a pot.

Also, during heavy down pours we are getting some water coming in where the old roof felt needs replacing. At the moment, where tiles have been taken off and new water proof membrane is meeting the old, small amounts are getting in. It's stained some of the wallpaper in the kitchen but I'm hoping a watered down bleach solution will get it off!

I'll try and squeeze in another update before the bedroom is finished!

Before that, let me share a couple of pics I took today after I cleaned up and after the rain stopped!
