The roof is done on the right hand side! The course Andy went on paid off as it looks really good! Very professional finish on the detail.
And the roof lanterns also came! We got these off eBay and amazingly, the exterior aluminium colour is exactly the same as the windows.
We went for a white interior on these as the ceilings will be white.
I can't believe how much light they let in!
His focus for the next couple of weeks is to finish off insulating the ceiling on this side, then put the roof on and windows in on the other side. Once watertight, we can then start with the first fix electrics. Still not sure what to do with the electrics. Andy enjoys doing electrics but unfortunately by law he is not allowed to do them without having an authorised person check. We did think to get the council building control to perform the check but it seems like it's going to be very complictated. We'd like to get an electrician to help but we really can't afford what they're likely to charge for the electrical work. So still thinking on that one!
On another note, if anyone knows any good bricklayers who fancy a challenge and want to use artistic licence, please let us know! It appears anything too complicated the older generation of bricklayers, and therefore the more experienced, just aren't interested in our project!
